Exercise the healing power of your meal

For several years after its inception, AID Bangalore did not pursue fund raising: Most of our requirements were met with, through internal volunteer donations. But, ever since we began supporting the educational expenses of motivated students associated with our tuition centers in a couple of Bangalore slums, we've realized that if we want to do this year on year, and expand it to more students/slums, regular donations are an undeniable necessity. In this scheme titled "meal a month", we seek recurring individual support, which is equivalent to one or more of one's meals.

kids_all_smiles.jpgThe cost of a meal may be different for everyone, but its worth is the same for all of us - rich or poor. Importantly, the practice of sharing one's meal (with a guest) is prevalent even in the weakest sections of our society. We in AID strongly connect with this spirit of empathizing with the problems of the fellow humans, and more crucially, fighting them as though they are your own. The name 'meal a month' also sensitizes us to the agony of millions who die of hunger around the world, and forties our commitment to contribute to the process of change. In a nutshell, however big/small the amount is, do consider supporting us every month.

Apart from funding the school/college fees, bus passes and books of worthy (typically 10th standard and older) students (chosen based on their commitment, not marks) from disadvantaged communities, the money raised through this initiative will also aid our projects in other areas such as agriculture and waste management. In terms of logistics, all it takes is to fill up the pledge form below.
